I believe fate is choice, and your fate is whatever you choose with the cards you are delt. Destiny in a sense is really just a reflection from end to beginning. When you look back on choices you've made, of course you see how you were fated to be where you are.
I think the idea to 'defy fate', is really an indication to make choices other than those immediately present. To choose the hard obscure thing, instead of the easy obvious thing.
Can't wait for part 2. I like and can relate to what I read so far.
